Product Description
Cheese cloth to make your own cheese? You buy it here! Our cheesecloths are 35×35 cm or 70×80 cm in size and are made of unbleached, off-white, food-safe cotton. You use them to make cheese, but they also have numerous other uses. The larger cheese cloth is especially useful for making large cheeses.
How do you use cheese cloth?
The best-known use of cheesecloth is to make cheese. Especially cheeses that are pressed, such as Gouda cheeses, are wrapped for better drainage of whey during pressing and better-closed rind formation. Also, if you make vegan/vegetable cheese or softer goat cheese, you need cheesecloth for molding the cheese.
But cheesecloth or mesh cloth has very many uses besides cheese making. For example, cheesecloth can be used for straining broths, draining yogurt into hangup, preparing cottage cheese or skyr, and packing herbs or spices when preparing broths. Its open structure also makes it very suitable for covering jars of kombucha, jun, or vinegar and can be used to filter kombucha, or beer, for example.
Can you reuse cheese cloth?
You can simply wash our cheesecloth in the washing machine and reuse it.
What are other names for cheese cloth?
Other names for cheesecloth are mesh cloth, filter cloth, or screen cloth.
