Become an affiliate and earn 10%

Do you run a forum, a large website, or a following on Instagram? If you have an engaged audience around fermentation, sausage making or charcuterie, you can join the Startercultures.eu affiliate program and earn 10% commission on the orders you bring in.

What you do with that commission is up to you: keep it as your reward, or pass part of it on to your audience as a discount or a perk. Your channel, your call.

How it works

  • 10% commission on the net product value of every order placed through your link.
  • 30-day tracking. If someone buys within a month of clicking your link, the order counts for you.
  • No minimum reach. We look at the audience, not at the follower count.

We like working with websites, makers and other partners who point to our products in a way that fits their own subject matter. You do not have to be positive about us all the time. We do ask that what you say about the products is factually correct, especially where food safety is involved.

    Affiliate terms

    These terms apply to everyone taking part in the Startercultures.eu affiliate program.

    Affiliates receive 10% commission on the net product value of orders placed through
    their affiliate link. We calculate that commission after any discounts, excluding VAT and
    excluding shipping costs.

    Cancelled, refunded or fraudulent orders do not qualify for commission. For a partial
    refund we adjust the commission proportionally.

    We track a visit through an affiliate link for 30 days. If a customer places an order
    within that period, we attribute the sale to the affiliate, as long as no other affiliate
    link was used in the meantime. Where several affiliate links are involved, the last link
    before the order counts.

    Tracking relies on a cookie. If a visitor refuses cookies, clears them, or buys on a
    different device, we cannot attribute the order and cannot award commission for it
    afterwards.

    We only award commission on paid orders that have been fully completed. Payout happens
    once any cancellations and refunds have been processed.

    We pay out once per quarter, within 7 days of the end of the quarter, once your balance
    reaches at least € 25. If your balance stays below that, it carries over to the next
    quarter. We pay by bank transfer.

    If you are a business with a VAT number, you invoice us for the amount we specify.

    Your visitors must be able to tell when a link is an affiliate link and that you may
    receive a fee if they buy. Put that disclosure where readers see it before they click, not
    only at the bottom of the page.

    Where technically possible, add rel="sponsored" or rel="nofollow"
    to affiliate links pointing at Startercultures.eu.

    You are free to write about our products in your own style, and you do not have to be
    positive throughout. We do expect information about our products to be factually correct.
    That applies in particular to information about:

    • food safety;
    • fermentation temperatures and times;
    • dosages and instructions for use;
    • the composition and properties of cultures;
    • health and nutrition claims.

    Do not attach medical or other health claims to our products that we do not make
    ourselves or that are not legally permitted. If you are unsure about technical product
    information, get in touch.

    You may not use the affiliate program for:

    • spam or unsolicited commercial email;
    • misleading advertising or fake reviews;
    • websites or ads that pose as Startercultures.eu;
    • domain names, social media accounts or ads that could cause confusion about who the
      supplier is;
    • paid search ads on our brand name, including “Startercultures”,
      “Startercultures.eu” and obvious variants or misspellings, unless we agree otherwise in
      writing beforehand;
    • automated placement of large numbers of links, or other techniques aimed mainly at
      manipulating search engines;
    • offering discount codes that did not come from us, or suggesting a discount is
      available when it is not;
    • buying through your own affiliate link in order to collect commission.

    You may use logos, product photos and other material from Startercultures.eu to promote
    our products, as long as you do not alter or present them in a way that causes confusion
    about who is sending the message.

    For the affiliate program we process your name, email address, details about your
    platform and the data needed for payout. We use these only to run and administer the
    partnership, and keep them for as long as the partnership and our statutory retention
    obligations require.

    Either party can end the partnership at any time.

    Startercultures.eu can close an affiliate account immediately in cases of fraud,
    misleading information, spam, incorrect product or health claims, or any other use that
    could harm customers or Startercultures.eu.

    Commission you have already built up from legitimate orders remains payable in
    principle. That does not apply to commission obtained through fraud or through a breach of
    these terms.

    Startercultures.eu may change these terms and the commission percentage in future.
    Changes do not apply retroactively to commission we have already approved. We will let you
    know about a change at the email address you gave us when you signed up.

    Startercultures.eu is a website of Starterculturen, based at Tussendek 70, 1034 TT
    Amsterdam, the Netherlands, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number

    These terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes go to the district court of Amsterdam,
    unless mandatory law says otherwise.
